Temilade Osinfade of T.T.DALK is one of our awesome members on styljunki. We loved every item we saw at his recently opened outlet at silverbird galleria and they were affordable too!! Well, we decided to have a chat with him.

Tylr : How old is TTDALK?

T.T.DALK is 4 years now.

How many shoes would you say you have sold so far?

We still on 5 figures for now.

What do you consider to be the biggest milestone for TTDALK as a brand?

It depends on your perspective of the milestone. we put alot on quality control so as not to compromise the quality of each of our products. Everytime a product sells right and meets its target as long as customer satisfactory is achieved i believe its always a milestone for us. We just opened our newest outlet at silverbird galleria, victoria island and the outcome has been wonderful. It has been an opening to a bigger market for us.

What particular group of clients do you intend to reach through this outlet ?

we put that Q on our drawing board as number one, a couple of strategies have been put in place for marketing.we are surrounded by Bankers, lawyers, telecomms guys, the miltary and many more, but our aim is to meet the needs of people that understand simplicity as a style of fashion, appreciate trendy handmade leather shoes, slippers and accessories crafted from Nigeria.

All your shoes are made in Nigeria; most designers like yourself would want to know how you achieve this and still maintain quality ?

Customers you mean, we work with all sorts of imported leather from cow, snake, crocodile and many more as well as the finest ankara materials from woodin, daviva, vlisco, and many more.

What designers do you look upto (both within and outside the country) ?

I get motivated by designers who understand the art of the fashion business, ralph lauren inspires me, Armacio Ortega (Zara), Gucci, as well as Nigerian designers like Deola Sagoe, David Wej.

How many outlets do you run currently? and where are they located?

I have about four outlets now. Two stores: one at Silverbird galleria, VI and One at Abeokuta, OgunState. Two concession outlets: one at Grey Velvet ikeja city mall and also at Foodco, Ibadan.

Where do you see your brand in the next 5 years?

Last 4 years when someone asked me this, i said i want to have T.T.DALK everywhere in Nigeria and other countries like Ghana, UK, USA, Paris,etc. We are still focused on that vision hopefully to accomplish it next year God willing.

I get writers block, do you get designers block or something? How do you come up with these styles?

Well I do, most of my designs come creatively random depending on my mood, the environment, and also customer’s feedback. I love to sketch in extremely quiet zones so most times i sketch in the middle of the night. Lol

Finally what would you say are the elements that make a good shoe?

I design my shoes in a way whereby the wearer gets an euphoric feel when he or she is in it. I define a good shoe by its shape on the feet, comfort, trendy style and durability.
